About

"This might be seen as a positive kind of tinkering...preserving what is valuable and correcting what is not. But teachers cannot do the job alone...they can succeed best if they do their work in partnership with parents...An essential political task today is to renegotiate a pluralistic conception of the public good, a sense of trusteeship that preserves the best of the past while building a generous conception of a common future."

David Tyack & Larry Cuban
Tinkering Toward Utopia: A Century of Public School Reform

About Me

I am an integrated learning specialist with nearly twenty years of experience tailoring instructional programs to meet the individual needs of the children and families I work with. I believe every child starts out eager to learn. Along the way, difficulties in learning can wear away at their motivation and self-esteem. If the difficulties aren't addressed early on, they can become a source of chronic stress for both children and parents, leading to feelings of powerlessness. Without adequate support, it can feel like a long, lonely, and arduous journey. Having worn many hats over the decades, I find that I bring a unique perspective and set of skills that truly allow me to support students, families, teachers, and administrators.

  • 15 years in PreK through College classrooms across subjects.

  • 10+ years privately supporting families from ages 6 to 24.

  • 10 years coaching all ages swimming.

  • 4 years as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction at a 2nd - 9th grade private school for kids with learning disabilities.

  • 5+ years supervising teachers in 1:1 and small group environments.

  • 2.5 years as a research assistant in the Education and Brain Sciences Research Lab (EBRL).

  • Almost 20 years teaching children with learning differences in public, private, charter, independent, international, and Japanese schools.
